The "Slatina" forest park represents a combination of natural and artificially created value. The majority of the complex consists of natural stands of beech and sessile oak, while a smaller portion is an artificially formed stand of black pine. The primary value of this area lies in the preservation of forest ecosystems, its high landscape value, favorable terrain morphology that enables recreational use, as well as its rich hydrography and easy accessibility.
This forest park serves as an oasis of peace, surrounded by residential areas and the spa complex itself, which has seen a steady increase in the number of visitors from both within the country and abroad. It is an ideal place for rest and recreation, both for the local population and spa users, and as such, it needs to be preserved.
During field research conducted in the "Slatina" Forest Park, 75 plant groups were recorded. Among them, three plant species - Ruscus aculeatus L., Ruscus hypoglossum L., and Eranthis hyemalis (L.) Salisb.—are listed in the Regulation on the Red List of Protected Plant and Animal Species of the Republic of Srpska.
However, many other plant species in the area are also very rare and form a true little paradise for all nature lovers.
The area has been protected since 2016 and is managed by the Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation "Dr. Miroslav Zotović."
